Dentist
Unfortunately, Taylor had to have some dental work done on Sept. 3. Her 2 years molars did not develop properly so the 2 bottom molars had to be capped and one top molar had to be filled. We were told 6 months ago that this was a possibilty and at her dentist appt. at the end of Aug. it was confirmed. The dentist said that she had some sort of infection during the development of her 2 years molars that caused them not to develop properly. We knew that she would not be too happy about this procedure but I was definitely not prepard for the discomfort she would feel after. She could not have anything to eat after midnight the night before. Her appt. was at 9am so Jeremy and I brought her to the appt. and they gave her "sleepy juice." We felt a little bad laughing but watching the sleepy juice take effect was pretty funny. She had trouble keeping her balance and was being really silly. We had to wait with her in the waiting room until it took full effect then they took her back for the procedure. They gave her laughing gas so she was out for the procedure. It lasted about 30 mintues and they said it went well. This is where things took a turn for the worse. She was very disoriented and NOT happy about what just happened. The ride home was a nightmare! She became very mean and screamed uncontrollably. I finally had to take her out of her car seat and let her sit next to me because she was going to hurt herself by straining so hard to get out. To make a long story short (ha) we made it home and she cried and was so unhappy about the way her mouth felt. She fell asleep but that only lasted about 30 mintues then she woke up in just as bad of a mood as before. At some point that afternoon she was finally able to eat something soft. She felt better that night and was back to her normal self the next morning. Problem now is that I don't know if she will EVER be happy to go back to the dentist.
